After many months, we can finally say, it's done. Blue Ridge PBS is proud to present to Virginia Public Schools and the general public "Virginia in the Civil War: A Sesquicentennial Remembrance." This three hour documentary was a joint effort of the Virginia Sesquicentennial of the American Civil War Commission, the Virginia Center for Civil War Studies at Virginia Tech, and Blue Ridge PBS. This week we mailed nearly 2000 DVD's to all of the public elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as every library system in the Commonwealth.
It was a mission of love for the crew here at the station. We have worked with Dr. James I. Robertson, Jr. and William C. Davis for many years, but this was something different and special. It was different, because of the scope of the project (three hours and all inclusive) and that we were using HD cameras and HD editors. It was special because we were blessed with the expertise from so many authors, historians, interpreters, doctors, and re-enactors.
We would like to thank all those who were so willing to contribute to this worthwhile effort.
