Department raises funds for the station through a variety of
methods including on-air campaigns, direct mail and more.

| Education Services |
The Education Services Department serves the educational needs of all of the citizens of Southwest Virginia. Instructional Television programs provide instructional resources coordinated to the state Standards of Learning to K-12 teachers in
41 school divisions, from Amherst to Lee Counties. The JASON Project is an internationally recognized distance learning opportunity for Elementary and Middle School Science classes from all over the region. Family Literacy is promoted from preschool to the adult years through the PBS Ready to Learn program and our adult learning services, including G.E.D. preparation and Workplace Skills programs.

maintains the phone system, takes incoming calls, greets visitors that come into the station, and all copying and outgoing mail |

keeps the station clean and well maintained, sets up for meeting/events at the station, and runs other errands |

| Production
|
The Production Department is involved in most aspects of the station. Local programming is the main focus; producing weekly, monthly, and quarterly programs along with special local oriented documentaries. Underwriters and specific promo's for the station are produced as are local and national commercials for the private sector along with industrial and training videos. The production department works closely with other departments to achieve the goals set for the station. Staff includes a production manager, producer/directors and production assistants.

Programming |
The
Program Department is responsible for creating a detailed schedule that has every second of air time filled with programs, promo's, underwriters and general support announcements. We are also responsible for recording programs for future airing and maintaining the tape library.
